That dog is ridiculously large, he could accidently eat it's owner. I agree he would do absoloutley nothing for your MPG though.

I had these on my old Bug before I went down the old Cal Look route.
Josh, you're wasting your money my friend, these will have no impact on your MPG at all.
Go for skinnier tyres and lighter wheels - I presume you have steels at the moment - if you're really serious. Then remove the door cards and so on. Shed weight
maybe if your hand is horizontal.. but try doing 60-70mph and stick ya hond out vertically and i bet you that it moves back a good half a foot before you can control it..
the turbelance is caused when the air tries to fill the gap that the tyres made by forcing the air out the way..
have you seen Ferrari's tyres on their F1 car lately?
and as for the front tyre.. i reckon the reasoning behind the tyre being fully open is because 70% of the braking of a car happens with the front brakes so they'll need extreme cooling at those speeds
'nuff said
And on half the other teams? It's nothing to do with aerodynamics, it's to direct airflow for cooling the brakes or for the diffuser. Infact the shields are more important for the front wheels for that reason.
