Ah well there is a shame.
Finally thought we'd get rid of the whining sods.

and it won't be an auto, they won't know how to get it to go forward
Oh I don't know, they seem to be quite adept at propelling large objects into hedges/trees at great speed.
The manual gearbox is just an inconvenience.
no one heard of the caterham rs v8 then? 550bhp 530kg. by my reconing it beats the atom on power to weight ratio.
only problem - limited edition of 7.
will it be possible to do a hexus circuit tour. basically exactly the same as the BTCC but using us hexus members instead. could ask the FIA to help set it up as an immature support race.. prizes might include anything that gets sent for review to the hexus people, that they sneekily don't send back i.e. motherboards, graphics cards and tazers.
Actually no, I'd never heard of it, not surprising with only 7 being built. Pretty sure Ariels "limited number" will end up being a lot more than just 7
I think thats a great idea though Stevie, if you write the letter to the FIA I'll counter sign it as an interested party
funkstar - me never been no good at writing letters, or sounding as i know what i talking about, so i think someone else better write the letter.
i found out about the caterham from the topgear.com website, just had look again - did you know they've ceased production on the mclaren slr - and started designing/testing a new one called the 'p11'.
also have you seen the new colour options for the volvo c30? wood effect looks nice.. Volvo C30 news - Skin disease - 2008 - News - Top Gear
back on topic - it might be an idea to start a 'beat this trackday laptime' thread to record our meagre achievemets at various tracks around the uk/world, thats if no-one sets up a mass meet type thing first where we can laugh at each other in person. I might have to borrow someones car though.
another back on topic bit - anyone been round the Nordschleife in germany?
Unfortunately the use of timing equipment is strictly forbidden on track days as it implies competition, which invalidates the track day organisers insurance.
Your best bet for that kind of friendly competition is a 'North Weald' day ran by Car Limits. You get timed around the slalom and handling courses.

Cheers for mentioning the issues of timing on trackdays.
Cat Limits is pretty cool met one of the instructors from there, top bloke
Trackdays are just fun places to let loose and do things you can't do on a normal road. Just thought it was a fun idea to gather some hexus people at a trackday sometime, do a days worth of ragging , then off to the local pub for some grub
