Whats wrong with my car!?

Hi.
I have a Nissan Micra 1.0 (LX version [one wing mirror] H reg) crap car, but good for learning to drive on!

Anyway, it has become a bit b0rked. At low speed the engine cuts out, like it would be a stall but the cluch is in. It happens lots, gotta keep revving (bit tricky in some suitations.)

There was a problem with it a while back, i think it was alternater had a problem but that was changed.

Anyone had this before/know what it is?

If its cutting out at low revs then you could have a spark problem, check all your plugs and leads.
It could also be choking, check all the air pipes n make sure nothings blocked.

Happened to wifes first car was summit to do with valves being burnt out.

Have a good nose around the fuel lines, could also be an air leak on the inlet manifold gasket.

Tick over might just be too low.....

Lowes idea is most likely.....when you get a bit of air getting to the inlet manifold gasket, it effects the mixture and makes it unsteady...

however when you rev it, the manifold is physically "sucked" back into a tight seal and the problem goes away....until the revs drop and then the little gap opens again, from the weight of the manifold and carn/airfilter etc or whatever is running it.

Me brothers first escort had this problem, we had a look and found the carb to be full of crud, a quick clean and it was good as new.
