    Mini :)

A few pics of my new toy

It's not the best looking car in the world, but it is 21 years old. Austin 1000 Mini with a 1275cc Cooper engine and brake conversion (discs instead of the original drums), along with the dash and full leather seats.

Will get some better pics at some point.

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

Drum brakes are scarey! But the handbrake on discs is usually pretty rubbish.

I paid £600 for it from a friend.

As XTR spotted, it does have twin tanks and it still only costs just over £30 quid to fill it up, duno how that lasts, as I have not needed to put any more in it again

As far as "doing it up" goes, what would you lot recommend? I don't really know a lot about Mini's to be honest, I just liked this one so when he said he was thinking of selling it I though why the heck not

i've a freind who's spent lots on his mini.. looks good too..

wider arches/fat tyres look good - dont go for low profile, go on stock (or smaller than stock) rims and get some really fat tyres going on..

engine-wise, i think you can shoe-horn a 1.5 vtec engine in there out of an old civic to give 140ish bhp, or better still is to get 2 motorbike engines, one for each rear wheel. i think there is a kit for some sort of yamaha engines, but not sure.. capacity wont be much (600cc each so your actually reducing engine size) but if they push around 120bhp each then your in for a right laugh.. a very very scarey one at that...

Looks like its on 10" wheels, so theres a limit to how fat you can go with the tyres. Not many places even stock 10" wheels now

The tank in my 1275 lasts me about 200 miles, I want twin tanks!!!

I'm only good with cosmetic mods, but she would look nice with wider arches, and clear lenses at he back cos you have them at the front and side!!!

To get a V-tec in there you need to extend the front end by about 3", thats why most of them go in Clubmans as there is more room in the engine bay. However we did see one at a show last year with a Vauxhall V8 and he hadn't extended at all. Brave man, and a tight fit!!!

Oh, and it looks like your front bumper is the rear one off a clubman!

Id say, Get some nice big wheels like : https://www.midlandwheelsshop.com/images/6X13.jpg those. You can get em in 13x7's(~£60 each). Some decent tyres(~£120 for 4), Arch extensions(~£40) and wheel arch 'mods' may be required for them to fit depending on tyres. A nice stainless twin exaust(~£100). Then as for engine mods, theres no limit to thing you could do. Something like a stage 3 kit, some new carbs(Pair of 1"3/4 Webber's or SU's) , and a decent air filter (K&N or Pipercross). Oh and some rally seats would look good too

Edit: You could also get that 1275cc out, and get it bored out to 1380. Stick a pair of decent sized Webber carbs on it, and itll go like stink....v0000m
