    Incredibly hard car suspension?

Well this weekend I was at Leeds Festival, came back on Sunday and all the way back the suspension was incredibly hard, was fine when I drove out of the place on Saturday and was fine untill I got onto the motorway.

Back end of the car seems to be riding very low (1.9dci renault megane) so I am thinking one of the shocks had gone. It also isnt able to handle aswell or corner and acceleration seems a little more sluggish.

Can get pics to show how low it is when the car is empty

Is it a fairly simple thing to sort out? Really can't afford to spend much more on it and may end up having to sell it and get a replacement to try and cut the spending or get a loan for it.

rear shocks are easy to fit, although it sounds like broken springs to me, also easy with a £10 compressor to clamp the new ones down

It's almost certainly the shocks. Springs rarely break. It's easy job to replace, definitly worth doing yourself.

    Megane - no rear springs

Check the shocks for leakage on a dry day. Try bouncing the suspected end by putting some weight on it. Should go down, come back up and then rest. If it's bouncing around more than that, or you can see wetness around the shocks get em checked by a professional.

Tried that when I got back originally, the car would go down a fair bit (more than normal) and then slowly come back up, I have it in to the garage where I had they forgot to charge me labour so they were going to say next week but when they got the car reg they said tomorrow morning

Would much rather have a pro look at it as I will need to drive back to Newcastle in a few weeks
