Smokes past, hehe. Was that intentional?
Dervs are fine for utilitarian transport but not if I only ever have one car, I couldn't hack the boringness, and not a silly overpriced small hatchback diesel. A nice BMW 6 cyl diesel would be nice for driving to work. If I could afford the much increased running costs and much-decreased reliability over my Honda, that is
We'll see which one can corner better, A nose heavy diesel engined car or my MX5, anyway

LoL. Driving more economical? Only on the m-ways and commuting to and from work. Actually the work trip is so short by the time I get to work is when I can hammer the throttle.
I've managed a combined 38mpg which is good going, if I say so myself, the standard NB MX5 is around the 30mpg mark. Of course it isn't often I manage 38mpg, usually it's more like 25mpg.
Dag nam the scurge of derv!
I'll never ever purchase a diesel unless the vehicle has locking diffs or it's model number relates to it's load capacity
Smart 3.5ton with a luton back?

I reckon i drive more economically after i've just filled up and had to pay the bill but i lapse into old styles slowly. My Audi S5 is really bad though. only got 25mpg the other day and i was pleased. I do wish though that i'd got a diesel engine. It costing me a bomb.
What i've noticed now at work (pilot) though is that were under increasing pressure to save fuel. Told not to start up engines until later, less power on take off, glide into landing.

my fuel consumption improved slightly on my X5 from 28.8mpg to 29.4 - sweet!!
my cooper S is doing nicely at 32.1 at the moment - even sweeter!!
Wise old man won't you help me please? My house is a squash and a squeeze.
I get about 16-23 mpg daily, dependent on the roads I am driving. If I do a long motorway run I can get about 37mpg at about 80.
Not driving any more economically though, a V8 is too much fun to drive softly.
I must say ive been walking alot more before i was lazy and got the car out for anything and everything.
