    Scum :(

Came out to my car yesterday morning and saw this:

No idea who did it or why. It was parked outside my girlfriends house at the time.

Had a quote of 200 to fix it. 3 panels need spraying because its down to primer and in some places right down to the metal.

Gutted because I spent about 5 hours cleaning and polishing it last week and had it looking like this:

    Re: Scum :(

Utter utter scum, its the worst feeling in the world finding some little **** has done that to your car, and why?! Just to make themselves feel slightly bigger and better.

Although although its an unexpected outlay it could have been FAR worse.

    Re: Scum :(

Sorry to see that. It annoys the **** out of you to work hard to get nice stuff, for other bitter & sad people to just want to hurt others.
The only consolation is, if that is how they are, then they have the punishment of having to live with their own personality.

    Re: Scum :(

There are plenty of scum out there. On Saturday night I was due round a friend's house for a booze up but was running late, so rather that go home to get changed and dump my car I went straight round after work and left my car in a side road near his house (I was far to drunk to drive home the next morning).

On Monday morning I went to pick it up only to find that some utter ****** had kicked out the window of the driver's door. He'd also done the van parked behind me, and (according to some kids who cama long while I was inspecting the damage) two other cars on the other side of the road- they'd seen them earlier.

So instead of spending my day off doing some shopping and a long overdue white laundry session, I had to go and spend £20 on some repacement glass from a breaker, and three hours fitting it and cleaning the interior up etc. On a Mk1 Clio, it's a bugger of a job whichever door it is.

Still, all clouds have a silver lining: I'd been vacillitating about buying a replacement hub for my 106 Rallye, and had been expecting it to cost about £50, but the breaker that sold me the glass also sold me a complete 106 upright for £25. Just got to find the time to fit it now.

Scum is the word for them alright, along with those that bang your car doors in car parks.

    Re: Scum :(

I once saw a couple of lads walking down the street in London and they were snapping the aerials off every car they passed.

When in Melbourne, Australia I was out at night with an Aussie friend - when he saw me about to retract the aerial on my hire car he said, "Don't worry - this isn't London", so I just left it. On our return the aerial and the door-mirror had both been snapped-off.

    C'est la vie!
