    My HTC Hero phone when mounted on the windscreen locks to satellites faster than my Snooper satnav. They need to be under glass and not a metal roof.

    ...apologies if you drive a rag-top car, amount of metal in roofs may go down as well as up. Your satellite lock may vary

    I still prefer a proper satnav to android mind. Even when my Snooper is technically a gps speed trap locator which just happens to have European mapping and guidance
