now, not to knock anything from him, as the kid clearly has talent but.....

He's a lot less power - That may seem a disadvantage, but he's not having to balance the thing in a powerband for fear of breaking traction.
He's weighs bugger all, and as we all know, weight is the enemy of speed and nimbleness.

All said and done, the kid has got talent - start 'em young is always the best way. Didn't schumakers old man have a kart track he let them loose on from very early ages?

The lad did seem to have an awesome amount of talent. Shame considering he had just recovered from a rather bad crash last year which left him with several broken bones and requiring lots of surgery

Such a waste of a young life, but i suppose it could of happened now or in ten years time. As for the broken bones, you have to be in awe as guys that can't manage to walk to the bike get lifted on by mechanics and are sent on their way to go race, surely adrenalin can only blank out so much...
