Right after trawling the internet as well as getting opinions on a few other forums, think Im gonna go with the FK-452's, will order 2 and see how they are then follow up with another 2 in a few weeks time
Thanks all.
Lemmie know how you get on, cause if they are as good as Eagle F1 Assymetrics, then I'll go for them
However, I will shoot you if they aren't.
Be warned
Your loss, just be warned, tis all
I've just swapped my FK 452's for T1R's on my 330 (225/40/18 & 255/35/18).
The Falkens are good all rounders but the Toyo's are better, especially in the wet - the T1R's are outstanding.
However I do think the Falkens last slightly longer

Eagle F1 > Toyo T1R > Falken FK452.
So basically it's up to your budget. FK452's are great budget tyres really - not considerably more expensive than nanky nanny ting tong ling long's but not considerably worse than Eagle F1's.
TBH you'll be fine with any of the three.

Have you looked at Bridgestone or Firestone(same company) ?? I know people who have used them on Mondeo sized cars and they have been very happy with them.
where did u end up getting ur tyres from mate?
i need to replace my front 2 tyres.. 225/40/18s and the cheapest place i have found is etyres..
the price includes mobile fitting, balancing and disposal of your old tyres
site at: www.etyres.co.uk
The T1-R's are too unpredictable in damp, slippery conditions.
They are on my list of tyres to avoid along with Pirelli P6000's.
While the tred pattern may look similar to the F1 GSD2/3's they perform very differently in varying conditions. I can only guess they use a harder compound which cannot cope with greasy sludge so common on UK roads in winter.
On an MB6 I'd rather change the wheels to 16's so I can get F1's that fit rather than 15's where there are no decent performance tyres left in 195/55/R15.
I am fascinated by the Falkens however after reading many good reports.

If I wasnt doing so many miles then I would have looked more into some Toyo's but as I mainly use the car for work, couldnt really justify the extra outlay, and quicker wearing of them.
Thanks mate, after looking round all 3 seemed to be really good tyres, but atm I am on a v.tight budget so the £30+ difference per tyre was just too much to ignore. Strangely the only real negative to the Falkens were heard from a friend with a 325bhp S14.5, (apparntly unless there quite warm the back end is all over the place, but meh less power, and FWD, so hopefully not too much of an issue )
I havent really, but then I didnt really look into them that much. I also didnt know of anyone else running them, and was really looking for recomendations.
After searching round camskill www.camskill.co.uk were the cheapest. £69.50 mail order (thats including delivery). I dont need them mobile fitted/disposal/balanced etc, as there is a VERY good indy just on the way back from work that will do it for next to nothing, as well as having them filled with nitrogen
Etyres also didnt stock Falkens so ruled them out.
Once there all fitted, il let you all know what there like and if they are as good as reports suggest
