If it's on both sides it's deffo a set-up issue (not tyre pressures or having a knock). I'd check the camber, toe-in, allignment - something is way out! Unless you've lowered the car since? Or stuck some lead weights under the bonnet??
Yep its on both sides, but not quite as bad on the nearside.
Camber isnt adjustable on the MK3 Mondeo's, but I will get the toe-in + alignment redone. Then go back to the previous place and see what they've got to say.
Nope car hasnt been lowered since I have had it. Its lower to start with being the ST220, but other than that, I aint added extra bits or played around with the setup.
I'm pretty shocked you can wear a tyre that badly in 4 months without the handling being totally shot!
Could it be cv joint / broken wishbones? My Mondeo Mk3 had wear similar to that (on the inside, although not as bad) and tracking was out due to broken wishbones.

Sorry to bump this, but the slow puncture on the rear tyre of my ST220 can't be fixed, so I'm looking for a couple of new tyres as well. Just wondering whether the Falkens were still the ones to go for? I can get two delivered from camskills for £130. Another silly question, but if I order two, will I get a "left" and "right" one, or does it not matter on the 452's?
Forgot to mention, I'm not under quite as strict budget as rasta, but would obviously still want value for money at the same time.
FK452s are pretty good I've had them before in 215/40R17. My mondy currently has Vredestein Sportrac 3 205/50R16 on the fronts and they've coped with the recent rain/snow/ice very well (considering they are 'summer' tires).
When you order two, it doesn't matter if it is left/right as it is upto the fitter to install them to the correct orientation on your vehicle. The only time you will get an issue of left/right is when the tire tread pattern is assymetrical (which neither of the above mentioned are).
Doesn't even matter if they are asymmetrical - if they are directional and asymmetrical, it is then you get a problem.
I like my Avon ZZ3's that I've got on the front of my car, very good level of grip in the wet and dry
I would still go for the FK452's.
Its a bit of a trip but I would go here http://www.micheldever.co.uk/car_tyres.html
They are the UK agent for Falken, and will match/better the price of camskill, and you can get them fitted and balanced down there. Micheldelver supply tyres wholesale to most tyre places up and down the Country.
Otherones I'd suggest are Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics - got them on my car and they've kept me out of a ditch - very good tyres - the successor to the hugely popular F1 GSD3.
While this thread is up... anyone know a good tyre place round cheshire / manchester way? Would rather go somewhere recommended rather than yellow pages pot luck.
Drive to Micheldever anyway
It's like a tyre changing production line - not yer usual outfit certainly
If not I'd use Protyre. Look here for your nearest outlet.
