X reg pug 306 cutting out

Hi people i am new to this forum and im needing some help.

My girlfriend has an x reg pug 306 1.4 and has been having problems with it cutting out for about the last year she has many people look at it and not be able to diagnose a problem.

The weekend just gone it cut out on here and she got the aa out and he took off the crank sensor and let it cool down and cleaned it then it started first time but since he has done that it seems to be cutting out more often its not cutting out when idling ie waiting at traffice lights it just cuts out whenever. Sometimes while she is doing 60 - 70 mph everything just seems to die.

I cut out on her on sat so i went down to help her and the car was turning over fine but not firing as if the immobaliser was not working so i unplugged the ecu left it for a few minutes then plugged it back in and the car fired up first time was just wondering if the ecu could be the problem or weather it could be something else any help would be muchly appriciated.

the list is, sadly, quite long.

If you remove a single spark plug, when the problem occurs, leave it connected to the lead, but rest it on the engine block, do you get a strong blue spark from it when craking the engine?

You see, it might be the ignition pack.
