    Red face My Projects...

Gawd, i suppose i should pull my finger out...my Mk1 Escort has sat under its cover untouched for god knows how long, and now the hedge has almost overgrown it. My Fiesta vans still sat in the garage, waiting for two new wings, a front panel, the XR2 bodykit to be fitted properly and a new engine...and my wifes waiting for me to shift the XR2 Interior and dashboard out of the bedroom. To top it all off, the 2.8i Capri i bought to break, i don't think i can bear to break it now. It only needs the two wings repairing, and a little work on the strut tops, and one head gasket doing, and...AARRGGHH...

So whats cluttering up your driveway/garage/garden, thats going to be fixed 'one day'

I think thats the whole trouble, you look at it through rose tinted glasses, think 'a little work/few new parts' and it'll be a bargain at twice the price. Twelve months later when theres mould growing in the roof gutters and its turned green from being parked under a tree, all the tyres have gone down and the missus is bending your ear about it...thats when you sort of stand back and think WHY!!!.

Well - lets put it this way.... im never buying an 'old' drag car ever ever ever again.... they cost SO much to bring up to date I could have bought an easy 11 sec car with the money I have spent so far.... live and learn

Now If the weather could stay nice and I had a month of work - I might just get something done !!

Zak33, you going road rallying m8y?...was tempted to have a try myself...got a couple of XR2 ID's here so thought of using my Fessie van shell as a donor...and Sunbeams, tried to buy a Mk2 RS2000 off a guy last year, he had just finished a resto on a Lotus...miserable git wouldn't let me have a look though...

not_your_punk, you been to the Interford/XR forums m8?. If you wanna turbo the x-flow lump, put an FAO out for a guy called Huw (redbullit), i managed to spot him a turbo kit for his Mk1 XR2 and hes having loads of fun...if you wanna go the CVH route, there'll be loads of peeps willing to help, although it ain't quite as big as when it was the 'proper' XROC forums...
