    The car in front...

    ...is an Indesit

Ordered in May and finally arrived this week, I've had it since Thursday and done just over 100 miles so far. My first new car so it's quite a novelty still. Really enjoying it and finding out how it is to live with. As the press have mentioned, the interior is definitely the weak link but otherwise it's brilliant! Really quiet and comfortable, spacious too (in the front at least). The 67hp 998cc three pot engine has a bit of character and is pokey around town, and even on the motorway it does well to cruise happily at 80.

There is a slim chance I'll be doing a track day with it in December but only if the weather's bad enough to leave the 7 at home. So that could be interesting!

If you're wondering what happened to the Volvo, it got scrapped. The £2000 discount made the iQ a very attractive option particularly considering the zero tax, very good fuel consumption and low insurance. It's almost like going back to running one car again, which is great.

It certainly makes the 7 feel pretty nippy in comparisson, think I could manage 0-90 and back to 0 again in the time the iQ does 0-60

Cool, I have test driven one and really liked, it. The turning circle on it is immense. I agree it is a bit platicky in the interior with some random plastic bulges that don't seem to make sense. But other that that pretty nice.

    I didn't know you were a blue badge holder . . .

    Thats Toyota Reading, no?

Are the IQ's actually available in any other colour? I have seen a few round these parts, but all in white!

You can get them in deep amethyst too, which is a kinda purple colour. Which I quite like. But I think that's it.

    Re: The car in front...

It is indeed Toyota Reading and that's where the dealer parked it, not me!!

Available in something like 5 colours I think, though my favourite is white so I was prepared to wait a bit longer for one.

Very nice - yet to see one in the flesh but I do think it is another clever bit of engineering from Toyota.

    Hows the handling?

Not bad really. Short wheel base and very responsive to weight transfer, so you can play with it mid corner quite nicely

Let down by the eco tyres, but amazing lack of rolling resistance.

Rolling resistance? But surely washing machines are meant to wobble a bit?

Couple of black ones round here. Well at least they were until the local dealer bought-the-farm and now the nearest is 40miles away!

What made you choose it over the Aygo?
