Craner curves/Old hairpin!
Actually I'm not sure about bikes - for cars it's definitely the best viewing spot. It should still be good for bikes as it gives you a great view over a huge amount a track, but I think it's quite easy for bikes.
yeah that looks like a great place to watch, been reading some old threads about it. heres hoping for good weather! and a good result for JT
You know he'll do something stupid and fall off before trailing around for the rest of the race (just for the fans).
The Rossi/Lorenzo battle will be worth the price of entrance alone though.
Can't believe MotoGP is being shunted to Silverstone and they are going to ruin Donno to make it F1 'friendly'. Wish i was going, will be a sad day when that last race is run...
The end of the Melbourne Loop is a bit sparse, and you can't see any of the rest of the track, but you do see the bikes braking from 150 before getting proper hard on the gas on the way out. Depends if you're keener on the noise or the speed I guess.
TBH it's 12 years since I've been to Donington. I seem to remember enjoying the inside of Redgate and Craner, and Starkeys/Schwantz/Mcleans. Coppice is an awesome bend. Since I've basically described all of the track here, I suppose what I mean is: turn up early and have a walk around until you find your spot. It's not a big track, I'd walked it all inside of 2 hours. I ended up by the start/finish straight for the final race on the day I went, the Supermonos- awesome noise.
You lucky beggar..... not had a chance to go to a MotoGP event yet.... one of these days maybe... if the atmosphere at the BSB is anything to go by then you will have a good day out
I have been to Croft the last couple of years to watch the BSB and had my pic taken with a few of the riders including Shakey Byrne and numerous autographs as well - it is nice being able to wander up and down the pit-lane if you are there early enough and have a peak into the garages etc... oh, and obviously the team girls as well
Guess I will just have to watch it on the TV instead
The atmosphere doesnt compare to BSB, its excellent at the MotoGP and I think MotoGP has the best fans in the world!
Been the last few years but this year Im not going... have a great time, the campsite will start filling up from today!
