    Given up on the FMIC

    Took the new FMIC to be fitted today. In the end it looked like it wasn't worth the hassle for the gains I'd get so I binned the idea. On the upside Forge kindly replaced it with a standard position twin cored alloy intercooler. So, it's not too bad in the end.

    New turbo goes on Sunday all going well. 200 miles of running it in, then all hell breaks loose...

    Replaced it with this new huge "breeze block" of an intercooler. Will try to get some pics next week

    I remember fitting a custome FMIC to the Cavalier I had..... What a nightmare of a job. Noone made one so I got it all measured up and designed myself (probably part of the prob LOL) and Serck Intertruck made it up for me.

    Bitch to get fited but was worth it with 30BHP and around 35lb/ft increase from that alone..... Sounds like pie in the sky figures but when you take into account the crappy standard intercooler on a Cav/Cally Turbo then its VERY possible

    Yeah, it was just the fact the whole front end of the car would of had to of come off and quite frankly the Clio charge temps aren't too bad really - people often suffer from carb freeze with GTT front mounts where the charge temp is that low it literally ices up the carb and it sticks! Not good. Optimum temp of the charge is around 10c.

    So.. guess what. With this intercooler I've just made up a deflector for the grill to get the air up to it which has really helped, and I've now found the next engine mod after the turbo... water injection

    have you seen the Carbon dioxide stuff, that feeds into your intake. lowers air temp apparently o_0
