You really need to do something with that head unit in there though!

I did wonder if that might be the case to be honest
I've discovered a tuning shop near me. Apparently they are good and been around for years. This may be a bad thing for me...
Bad for my wallet mainly.
Paid off the Golf the other day, so I'm going to start with a stereo overhaul soon (shame you can't sell head units on here, I have a growing collection ) , then I shall see about some performance enhancements, might stop me looking for a replacement, which really wouldn't be a good idea considdering the parking situation at my new place.
Replaced the stock head unit with a JVC AVX-800, DAB tuner and BlueTooth receiver.
But the DAB aerial is an internal job on the front windscreen. It's pants. The problem is the first revision of the MK5 GTIdidn't have a roof mounted aerial, so I'll need to punch a hole in the roof to mount one. Found an aerial that has AM, FM, DAB, GPS and GPRS receivers. So I'll get decent DAB and I can then feed the JVC NX-7000 Satnav system (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jvc-kw-nx7000.html).
Next would be speakers, which is a bugger as there are 10 of them. The only company that makes them is German, they are good, but failry expensive.
Rear and side view cameras might also be in order, would help with parking in my street.
Especially when they aren't standard sizes.
The front doors have three each, the back doors ahve two. The backs are easy as and are about £150 for the pair. The fronts have active crossovers as well, so the drop ins are about £600 for the set.
This is going by pricing I got about 18 months ago so they may be more not the Euro isn't as good.
Should be an easy instalation. But two small 2 channel amps under the front seats would be pretty cool too
Very nice, so when do I get to go for a spin in her?
Oh, and the wheels are gorgeous, don't change them
LOL, when I saw the title thread, I thought there's someone wishing to start/add a little one to the family, good for him/her, a congratulations is in order and best wishes, click I come here to the automotive segment, definitely wasn't expecting this but must say that is a beauty!
Well 3.5 hours on a train, 2.5 hours of driving, some work, and a 5 hour drive and I'm back!
Managed to knock it down a bit more, as the air con needs regassing, and one of the rear tyres will need doing soon, and 255's arent cheap!
Total price £1850
It also only used half a tank from Teeside, back home, not bad I dont think!
