This may look like a normal roundabout... Notice the slighty odd shape, there are infact five miniroundabouts within this round about. So you can go around it the wrong way. Learners Nightmare!

thats the magic roundabout in swindon isnt it?
hughlunnon@yahoo.com | I have sigs turned off..
I think it is in scunthorpe when i was down there, there are two one way roads pointing towards each other and they meet in the middle, pointless really but funny. Youcan only go so far then you have to turn back, very strange.

No doubt theres a case for that, I remember I was down the M6 at about 1 am as I was getting back from a flight and all these confused people had ended up on the toll, well the first 50 m's of it anyway, I only saw them cos the were REVERSING back out of the M6 toll and back onto the M6, just glad they didn't try to do it at 5pm lolOriginally Posted by Lowe

A (rather wierd) friend of mine got obsessed with motorway design a while ago, and IIRC a cloverleaf is the only way to have a junction between two dual carriageways where you can come from any direction and go in any other direction without having to give way. You need a roundabout otherwise. I like them, they're cool.
If I remember correctly, the slip road joining the M1 to the M25 clockwise is banked, very twisty, and rather scary if you're doing 60 in the 30mph limit while overtaking a coach. It could be the M25 to M11 junction though, I can never remember.
Rich :¬)
I love the M40/M25 junction for the same reason - a nicely banked bit of NSL road that really screams to be driven quickly around. First time I did it though I didn't realise the M25 was at a stand still and here's me doing 70mph around this slip road only to find my entrance is chockablock.Originally Posted by Rave
