    Re: Insurance Companies

I'm 28 and at the moment i'm insured on a Mercedes C200 as the second driver for only £200 per Year fully "comp", with Performance Direct, I used comparethemarket to get the quote the day I passed my test ( 10 months ago ).

Have a look at the insurance group the car you are looking for is in and think about opting for a smaller CC engine and see how this affects your quote(s).

All the cars I have looked at have been between groups 1 and 4, nothing really high.

Its only recently ive started thinking outside the box..

    Re: Insurance Companies

Look into cars that fall into the 'classic' bracket (old minis/land rovers etc), and look into classic car insurance with limited mileage. Some insurers insist on 25+ for classic car but iv heard of some that don't mind, cant think of any off the top of my head though!

    Re: Insurance Companies

Rather than start a new thread. i thought I would just give this a bump.

Come the 28th of this month I will have £1000 which I plan on spending on a car. But as usual with me, I'm not sure what would be my best bet.

My insurance is going to be high either way, but for a first car I dont want to spend a fortune on it, hence the £2000 limit. Once I have bought the car, paying around £250 a month insurance won't be too bad and then once I have some money free, I will be taking my pass plus (at the moment all sapre money is going towards getting the car).

    So any recommendations?

    Preferably something small and reliable.
Condition. Not a banger but not perfect condition obviously.
Someone that isnt going to cost a bomb to run (although with petrol prices at the moment thats a big ask)

    Thanks in advance.

Just checked that and the area I have recently moved to is listed as 'F' (highest risk) and the area I moved from is listed as 'A' (lowest risk)! Luckily I don't have a car at the moment so not much of an issue, but hopefully increased age will help offset the increased location risk when I eventually get a new car!

Old shape Micra, more or less bulletproof, not exactly cool, but neither is my first car.
