Don't get me wrong, I support England and want them to do well in the world cup. Those flags are however are the height of chav! I hate them, they just look awful and do nothing to help us escape that age old stereotype of football loving thugs.
All the vehicles around my area with them on are generally either:
a) Vans, with a copy of the Star/Sun/Mirror/Daily Sport in the front window
b) Chav mobiles i.e Saxos and other similar hot hatches that have had an accident involving Ripspeed and some glue.
c) Clapped out old bangers that probably shouldn't be on the road and are liable to fall apart due to the extra drag that the flags create. (Seriously some have more on them than an embassy has outside).
They all have one thing in common though, an egit driving too fast, too close, not wearing a seatbelt, on the phone and the look of a neanderthal thinking too hard.
Gaah I hate them!
It does harm when you're travelling behind someone and one of the flags just falls off the window and bounces off the bonnet of your car and leaves a pretty hefty scratch. He did stop and apologise though, but now I'm gonna have to go without a car for a day or two while that scratch gets sorted out by his insurance.
Ban them before anything more serious than a scratch on the bonnet happens!
Could have been far worse, at least you got an apology, was the scratch that bad though ? Could you not have got him topay you for your time and effort in getting rid of it with some t-cut and polish ?
It was right down to the metal, more of a gouge than a scratch really. The worst thing is, he said the exact same thing has happened before
And yes, it could've been far worse, but luckily it was only my car that got damaged, and not a person, say if someone got a serious shock from it and ended up crashing or something?
Good luck to England and what not, but the flags don't looks so great, especially when theres one either side. And distracting! but that's the purpose of course.
Where I work recently a sales guy had to pick up one of our agents, who's French, from the airport and he first off all bought a couple of England flags for the car, well done that man !.
So they do have their benefits after all ;-)
I saw four what I presume were builders/sparky/etc vans (Vauxhall Combo?) this morning parked up outside a building site. All white, all with red crosses painted above the windscreen. Whoever had the job of painting the crosses used what looked like emulsion.
Wobbly lines, dripping paint, a really classy finish.
