    http://www.aoyt95.dsl.pipex.com/ladycrash.jpg

i believe this is a genuine photo..

worrying thing is.. look at everyone in the other cars or walking. everyones reacting.. now look at the silly bint driving the merc.. i dont think she's cottoned on to the fact she's hit somone yet.. no sign of heavy braking from the merc, its not nosediving or owt. i think she's just completely oblivious.. he's just broken her windscreen ffs!

    I believe it's fake.
And it's because of those reactions. For the car to be travelling at sufficient speed to lift the weight of a person and suitcase like that, it would be have moved from the point of impact to the point the photo was taken far faster than people could have moved their hands to their face or screamed. People normally take longer than this to react, and the first scream is normally heard as the body hits the ground.
Of course, from another perspective the merc has swerved sideways, and since traffic in a turning lane may be under signal control, it's possible the pedestrian walked into the path of the vehicle.

dont think she's swerved, cos the wheels are not still turned..

the pic is from a traffic sensing camera, im almost cirtain its her fault.

the people might have seen the accident a second before it happened, and you can react that fast (might not be screaming yet but you'd be doing something..)

I have to agree on reflection.

Thats nasty - it doesn't look fake although could be. If it is they did a very good job (even faked the looks on the people in two of the other cars) but yeah, not even any indication she was trying to stop.

Valid point about the screams, although they are quite a way from the crossing - the car could have carried the person for a bit of a way first.

ROFL! I put off looking at this before I went to the pub in case it depressed me, but having just viewed it I've never seen a more obviously fake photo in my life!

    Rich :¬)

Edit: in fairness it must have taken some Photoshop skill to put that together, fair play.

Looks like one of those shock posters they put together for awareness campaigns - remember the UK one about how much further to stop it takes for just a few mph?

If you crank it up in photoshop and look carefully you can see the feint patch marks, slightly off lighting, slightly incorrect perspective and scale, and the odd wrong reflection..

It does what it's intended to do though.

The driver of the Merc hasn't even reacted! Most people would have at least looked shocked or slammed on the breaks by then, surely! If not, you shouldn't be driving. :edit: The driver and passenger of the VW seem to look shocked though..... :edit again: Where's the damage to the Merc? A human would cause quite a bit, one would assume.....

Good pic thought, but as usual it probably won't raise awareness. Drivers (SOME) will still fly around without a care.
