Cars with free insurance

Hi guys, my boss is looking into getting me a new company car for when i hit 18 (currently drive a van) but he would like to get me one with a years free insurance. Which cars come with free insurance?

It must be...

If petrol - 1.4 or under.
If diesel - 1.9 turbo or under.

Manual or Automatic i dont mind

Ohhh, and to follow company code, it MUST be silver

Vauxhall do a Corsa for when you're 19.....the entire Corsa Energy range (1.0, 1.2, 1.3 CDTi) bt not until 19.

Other Corsa's are 21 minimum age.

Ok, if i cant get a car with free insurance, what car would you lot reccomend that i could get insured on for under £1k at the age of 18, with Pass Plus. Becuase at the min im getting quotes for £2k for a 1.1 Saxo, and £1.5k for a 1.4 Fiesta (i dont get how the engine size makes it cheaper to be honest)

ooh and your pass plus is only valid for 1 year so, after a year of drivin, u still only have 1 year NCB

renault wont touch you till you are 21 with free insurance not many manufactures will touch a 18 yr old with free insurance but as its a company car you may get lucky.

Virtually anything. Someone I know paid £1195 to insure a 2.5 V6 Omega at 17 with Pass Plus and Norwich Union.

I imagine you'll be able to get up to at least Group 10 before it breaks the £1k barrier, which leaves plenty of cars to choose from.

If he is looking to get a new car then he will have to have fully comp, which is most likely going to be over £1k for pretty much anything

Easiest way is to choose something other than a fiesta/saxo et al, the insurance is always nuts on them simply because they are most 17 year old's first car and tend to get crumpled.

Always shop around all the insurance companies, and make sure you get two quotes, one without and one with pass plus (that way that can't take the p!55)..

Fox, what a complete load of twaddle! That'd be tpft on someone elses car with a very sizable excess, if he tried fully comp on his own they wouldn't insure him.
I can only just insure one myself and I'm nearly 26 (passed in Jan), and the quote for me is nearly £1200, even third party only is £1100..

Just get a car that's not typically driven by boy racers and you should be fine. I know insurance has gone up a bit since '98 but I insured a Nissan Praerie 1.8 (which is a hoooge car) for about £650 TPFT when I was 18/19, and we didn't even shop around for that quote, just went with Frizzell 'cos my parents were with them. Saxos and Fiestas are about the worst cars to chose from an insurance point of view. A mazda 121 would probably be way cheaper even though it's pretty identical to a Fiesta, just because they're mainly bought by old people.

Hell yer! I drive a 1.6 Renault Scenic and it only costs me £780 fully comp. Not the coolist car but its ultra comfy and has plenty of room for mates

2 grand for car insurance...Jesus thats a lot of money, it makes my £350 on my saxo VTR look bloody good!!!!
