    Reccommend me...

    a new car!

Well, actually not new but a new one for me

I'm going to be entering full time employment this year, so will have extra £££ to play with = new car

I'm looking for something that is:

    cheap,
    reliable,
quite quick when it needs to be (to beat most Barry's et cetera),
    Moddable and
cheap insurance for a 19year old (Birthday is 16th Sept btw )

I had a 1.4 Escort lx and the insurance wasnt too bad. But it was an average car.
I now have a 1.6 306 and it is much more fun to drive The insurance is a bit more expensive but I think its worth it.
20 years old and I pay ~50 quid a month TPFT, day light robbery...

At 19 that is REALLY wishful thinking. Fast, cheap to buy and CHEAP TO INSURE! Moddable doesn't help your cause.

If you want cheap to buy and cheap insurance, a micra (1.0) would be ideal.

If you want fast, a small car with over 1.6 litres would be quick enough (but forget cheap insurance) (clio, fiesta, focus, saxo, 106 are all reasonably quick with 1.6l or more).

Moddable - the favourites are novas, corsas, saxos, 106s. You can get 1.0 versions of these, so your insurance can be kept down, or you could get the fast one and pay 1.5-3 grand insurance.

VW? Why? You a Polo dude? Or a Golf man? To much money for less car, and recent ones not really as good as the older ones.

    Megane?

My nieces ex got an ex-demo 206 turbo diesel on HP...paid about 3/4 grand up front i think and was paying the rest over 3 years to get it intrest free...pretty certain he got free insurance with it, although he had to pay £10k for the car...
