    XENON car blubs

Bought these off Amazon. Now it says there road legal but on a bit of instruction paper in the box, it said 'for showcars only'. Can anyone tell me if these are road legal?

If you car doesnt have headlight washers, or automatic headlight leveling/adjustment then they arent legal. (Well they wont pass an MOT!)

I have a bmw 320ci so covered on the adjustment part. Will keep the old ones and swap them back for the mot. What is the reason they woudl fail an mot? I mean if there road legal how does that lead to a fail?

Sure they're legal, they're just 55W headlight bulbs with XENON gas instead of oxygen in the bulb capsule, same as they sell at Hellfrauds. The Xenon gas just makes them burn a little brighter so have a look from >100yards in front with them on and see if they're a bit bright and just bear it in mind, maybe dip them down a notch on the adjuster. TBH they will proably look the same, just a bit more white

The sprays and washers thing is for HID (High Intensity Discharge) lighting which is different bulbs and powered by ballasts.

These are just normal bulbs with XENON gas to make them a bit brighter, and blue glass to give a very slight blue tint.

yep, not another one of those dicks about to fail his MOT after shoehorning a HID into a 55w fitting blinding everyone coming towards him.

about time the cops started impounding cars with that crap

    Re: XENON car blubs

If they're 55W then no problem.

The show/rally lights are usually more, and they wouldn't be allowed on roads.

But for headlights I'd go with a decent brand - only £10 more, but one of the biggest factors in road safety at night.
