Glad some of you found the photo's interesting. I'll try and get some more as and when i find similar sights of destruction or interest. Good luck with the Transit rebuild Jon!
The one on the ramp...easy peasy mate, the moneypit was the one to the left of the pic. A set of injectors at a thousand quid, little later the turbo went...'several' hundred quid for a new one...then the diesel pump went, 'several' hundred' quid for a new one of them...when the diesel pump failed it filled the injectors with swarf and killed them, so another set of injectors at a thousand quid. And that is just the price for the parts, to us...never mind fitting, programming etc...
Had any Scudos in with popped EGRs Jon? Bloody thing I've got is 'orrible.

However, if you go round telling your customers to keep buying vans you won't have anything to do and it will be a job at Maccy D's for you.
The one above was 04, done something like 200k...they can put quite a lot of miles on them travelling around the country, think their 3 y/o Transit has clicked past 150000 already.
And they know how to pick them...had to put a clutch and dual mass flywheel in their Ranger pickup a couple of weeks ago, no 3rd party parts available so it had to be all genuine, that was over a grand just for the bits again!!!
Belt has been changed full service etc, it feels a little smoother to drive to be honest, I assume that due to the timing being tweaked when the belt was changed?
The only thing is it seems to have a slight squeak its very quiet and does seem to follow the revs of the engine. Now it could have been there before to be honest or it may just be how these 1.9TDi engines sound (it’s my first TDi)
Don't get me wrong it’s not a loud or high pitched squeal just a slightly audible noise that is separate to the usual clatter of a diesel engine.
possible pully squeking?

Psychosomatic Timing belt is either right, or broken Oil change, brake adjustments, tyre pressure corrections etc. all have greater effects.
Turbo, transmission whine.. could be any number of things. Was almost certainly there before, but you're being hypersensitive post parts being changed (I'm exactly the same). The only thing is it seems to have a slight squeak its very quiet and does seem to follow the revs of the engine. Fixed, it was the alternator belt.

I just changed the alternator belt on my car today. The alternator bracket had been a bit loose (only the alternator and water pump to worry about). I tightened it up, and that's when it started squeaking. Apparently they squeak when the sides of the belt become smooth and polished, which is likely because it was slipping. The new belt with rough edges is all good now.
I also got a new set of spark plugs and it revs more easily and smoothly, without bogging down.
