Hi guys,
My insurance renewal is up soon, but I don't want to re-insure my bashed up 106, which has it's clutch on the way out.
My brother has an e36 he is no longer driving, it's been standing still though for a while (no MOT or tax).
I know I can't tax it without an MOT and insurance, I just want to confirm that I will absolutely need to get it insured before I can take it to the MOT.
I'm sure it will start etc after we get the battery charged...not sure what additional work it would need though to b e road worthy, brakes is something my brother mentioned, along with the clutch pedal sitting high (?!).
Also, my 106 is still taxed till March, any way to transfer the tax to the new car (once insured and MOT's) or get a refund?
If I don't insure it, I will have to get it sorn'd - as the new rules say you must have a car insured even if it's off the road
I pretty much have an idea of the answer, just want to double check and get opinions.
Thanks in advance.
