VW Transporter seatbelt reminder
I have a 2004, VW Tansporter campervan, which is great in every respect except for the painfully loud seatbelt reminder. Is there any way to disable this feature or at least make it a softer, gentle reminder rather than clanking cymbols.
cheers
Carpes
Thanks for the suggestions but I managed to sort it out. Under the drivers seat is an in-line connector that I simply disconnected and no more annoying noise.
thanks
Re: VW Transporter seatbelt reminder
Putting your seatbelt on should solve this issue. You know, with it being the law and all..
Re: VW Transporter seatbelt reminder
Should be the same as every other VW, configurable if you get a VAGCOM cable and software package.
I've read that the US doesn't have seatbelt warnings, and other markets only have it for the drivers seat.
I was thinking about getting the cable and software for my Golf at one point, but never got round to it. I would have turned off the warning for the passenger seat if I had as it was rather annoying if you place a slightly-too-heavy bag on the seat and the pinging started.

When stationary it is nice to be able to pop the roof, make a cup of tea and listen to the radio, which means putting the keys in the ignition.
Re: VW Transporter seatbelt reminder
So it even pings when stationary?
Thats odd. My MK5 Golf only started pinking when you were moving. That seems overly causious from VW.

Could you not just pull the seatbelt over and click it in? A little annoying but surely less annoying than the warning tone?
