Sym XS125-K

Hi,

I bought this bike:

.....last December and have been absolutely delighted with it. So far I've racked up nearly 500km on it without any significant problems (chain snapped, but that was likely some numpty in the factory not putting the circlip/split pin whatever it's called, in the right way round)

The bikes a nuisance to start as it wont idle from cold with the choke fully on - you need to engage the choke fully, then start riding it to get it warmed up - thank god I've go a straight run off my drive onto a quite back street.

Now the question - I cannot find out where to get details to check things like engine oil levels. I've had a quick flick through the manual a while back, but I don;t recall seeing anything.

Does anyone have any ideas?

That looks like either a Honda 125 clone or a Yam YBR 125 clone so i reckon a lot of it will be the same....

I'd imagine there will be a small window on the side of the sump which will show you min and max oil levels when the bike is on the flat/level. Least that was how it was on my Honda (Varadero 125). Unless you've got a centre stand, you'll normally need two of you, or the ability to balance the bike whilst knelt - just don't drop it

It looks like it could be based off the honda cg125 engine but it could also be the cbr or cbf 125 engine.

Thinking about it the Varadero was a 125 twin - so it might be different to the single that you'd have.
