7 days!
*Panic mode ON*
I've got my 3rd test next week! I can drive pretty well and I've done a couple of mocks and only got a few faults so I should be alright but I'm really nervous already and I really really do not want to be doing a 4th test because I make a silly mistake cos I panic.
So does anyone have any tips for calming the nerves and passing in general?
And also my instructor said she will sit in the back of the car if I want her to during the test - is that a good idea?

It was easy for me... straight out of school and at college so i was used to exams. Passed my theory and practical tests first time... so i just jumped in the car for my practical test and thought of it like a normal lesson with my instructor. My instructor said i was "as cool as a cucumber...." She was more nervous than me!!!
the driving examiner was asking me questions about my college course. I ended up with 4 minors which i was very pleased with :D
Hope this helps.
Good luck with ya test.

good luck! you'll be fine!

Hmm instructors can be pain mine was a bit of a git, gave me my only minor for supposedly rolling back a touch on a very steep hill start (personally i think it was the suspention settling and the back end lowering as i released the handbrake but what ho you cant argue)
My only advice is to not think about who's in the car with you but remember what youve been taught and concentrate on driving.
Dont have her in the back seat else youll be forever looking at her breasts in your rear view ;)

i had the sixth form christmas ball the night before my test... i was blatently still over the limit when i took the test the following morning @ 11:00, but it made me relaxed and i passed with only 5 minors...
..... not that i'd reccomend you get pissed before your test lol!

K I'm feeling calmer now, tis only a driving test.
I was thinking that if my instructor sat in the back I could get her to cough everytime I went over the speed limit :)
-
I passed my test because I'd convinced myself I'd already failed with the first 5 mins.
A lot depends on the examiners - If you're relaxed, it puts you in a better state of mind.

I failed my first test and have my second in a few weeks. My tips i will be telling myself for next time are gonna be:
Just chill totally, it is not the end of the world if u don't pass this time! Everyone passes eventually, there is always next time and it is only 6 - 8 weeks away at most!
You know how to drive, so don't convince yourself you can't. I got well nervous about doing complicated junctions, i have, in the last few days been thinking all the ones i might have to do and been working them out!
Shake the examiners hand 'lol' and chat to him before you get in the car or when you first both take your seats.
Sit in the car with him for a few minutes before beginning to drive, just get the nerves down, put the aircon on and think about what you have to do.
Thats what i'll be doing neway! But then i am in my head thinking its not entirely necessary for me to drive, i will pass in the next year...just how many attempts + how much cash it costs me!
