Audi RS6....best all rounder in the world?

If its not the best all round car..its gotta be damn near.

£58,800 ....and what on EARTH do ya get for that much dough? A big house in Southern Ireland for starters

So what does this CAR do for that much dough?

Get your bib on, cos you are gonna dribble

4172 cc V8.......and this kitten doesn't mess.......450bhp with twin turbos
And you aint gotta change gear......."5speed auto mate"......"but doesn't that make a car slower guv?"

Spose so...but when it will do 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, who give a damn....certainly not me.

Most German cars are limited to 155mph so thats where this kitten stops too....but once cagain who cares.

Its big enough for you and three mates to go to a LAN party, all your PC's in the boot, at unbelievable speeds, and it looks like heaven as well.

I gotta say dudes....BMW make lovely cars, and Mercedes AMG line up is divine.....but when it comes to fast 4wd monster estates.....

    Audi owns

    But its an estate......
Can't i take the saloon version instead? and wouldn't the saloon and estate be slightly different speeds to 60?.

And you say its an auto, which means that well you have no work to do....

I'd like to get a better look at the console as well - as it looks superb to me. Under toned with some nice red with what appears to be a very very nice sports steering wheel....

And those front meshed grills HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I would take this over any car around at the moment as well

Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems

Admittedly the RS6 is a monster of a motor and I'd love one.

However being totally objective the best all-round motor is probably the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. It might not look as good as it should but despite it's size it shouldn't be too badly disgraced in terms of sheer speed on a track-day.

Its just so damn ugly though...looks like Stevie Wonder's first attempt at a cut-n-shut...

As for the RS6, i could live with that...i could fit my kids and the dog in and still embarress all the local boy racers...

It's pretty good on the rough and bleeding fast on the smooth.
The RS6 is a nadge faster on the smooth and hopeless on the rough.

I guess a Rangie with a more on-road prowess and couple 'o hundred more ponies might beat em both!

    Right.. long story.

My Dads partners daughter got married last weekend. She got married to one of the top bods working for Audi, though he's moving over to Seat soon.

Well, he borrows the company cars and has something different very week. They have a pool of cars which are on "long term test" so to speak. Anyways, what should he have this weekend?

He calls it the "Beast" and it's an appropriate nickname to say the least. Masses of torque, brutal power which is very easy to control which is pretty suprising. It was also pretty nimble for such a big car.

The inside was typical Audi, nice dash layout and the sat/nav/computer in the centre was fantastic.

But, it's just not my type of car. The sound of it was nice, but a little quiet for my own tastes. Despite being so big it doesn't *feel* fast. 100mph+ feels like you're just cruising along without a care in the world. Oh and this one wasn't limited...

Range Rover with overfinch (sp?) conversion. I would go for the last of the classic versions with air suspension, think the top one they did was speed limited and 0-60 5.5sec. Thats from memory so I could be slightly wrong. Dread to think what the mpg is.
    All the best

Not really sure you could class the m5 as the best all rounder in the world. Sure its quick, but being a saloon doesn't make it an all rounder.

By best all round car do u mean
    a) 4ft mud, going to a remote scottish farm
    b) cruising 4000miles some where in america
    c) school run
    d) fix some snow tires and go to a Finnish glacair

Are they the kind of things you mean by 'best-all-round car'?

    Will
