It’s much less viscous than water and a much lower surface tension than water so it will find its way through the tiniest cracks. The other option would have been to pressure test it (as they did with the radiator) but that wasn’t really practical with the large open surface (they would have need to make a plate to fit over the top and then a gasket to seal it)

Enjoyed the description of the Dover engine & gearbox. Useful in any application where you need to turn diesel into noise.
Yes, they weren't very impressed with that! I wonder what they will put in its place? (Gas turbine??)
