You can do control drifting by understeering after you initiate the drift. You just have to get the car to drift out first.

Tis easier to start with, I would agree, when you have alot of practice with a FWD then you can control it better than you could with a RWD but that comes with alot of practice. Which would mean alot of track days (trying to be legal ).

What are you lot on about? Most drifters use 200SXs of either flavour, or stuff like Corolla AE86s, Supras etc. All these cars are FR- or Front Engine, Rear Wheel Drive. In Gran Turismo speak, that is. I drive an MR car, but my one attempt at drifting ended up in a tankslapper then a spin.

Drifting front wheel drive cars is possible, but not exactly easy. When you put the power on it tends to pull the car back into line.

From what ive seen, most drifters use 200sx, supra, skyline, silvia s12's ,AE86s.

    All Mostly RWD, skyline 4wd.

I've not seen many 4wd drive skylines used, tends to be the RWD R32's.

I was never any good at history, used to fall asleep with my eyes open. Very handy!

So your saying that people used to use FWD cars for drifting, but don't now?

They don't as much no, you will still find the odd one who does. Takes more skill to use FWD cars

    FTO
Nice car. Try http://www.mivec.co.uk/ for the full info on the car itself.

    £5.5k
Well there's the FTO MIVEC (200bhp), 200SX (200bhp), Prelude 2.2i (183bhp), 328i (193bhp), Alfa GTV Lusso (220bhp), Fiat Coupe Turbo (220bhp), MGF VVC (142bhp), MR2 GT (168bhp), MR2 Turbo (Import ?bhp), Celica GT (168bhp), Mazda RX7 FD (Import ?bhp), and more (Hyundai coupe etc etc). Not to mention a wall of hot hatches like the last of the 1.8Vti Civics (167bhp), early Leon VT (180bhp) and if you're really brave a Lancia Delta Integrale in LHD (may need shares in an electronics company to keep it on the road).

    £5-6 buys so many cars!

    Hmm.....

'ere Zak when will the Astra coupe hit the sub £6 bracket?
