Smile Passed my DAS at last!!

After a hellish Thuirsday (last week) where I froze to death and a test on friday ive at last passed my DAS. Been out for a ride since on my CBR600FT and its great, ah the joys of 2 wheels. The instructor though was a nasty piece of work , I dont look the biking 'type' so even just before the test he was screaming at me for not following directions (I was) and he kept tryign to make out I wasnt doing looks by overtaking me on the right side going past roadworks and beeping his horn?!?! I had seen him and watched him come up on me I mean how silly was that?

He was gutted when I passed with 5 minors

    hehehehehe

    cheers
    Rom

Nice one mate. Take it easy till you've got used to the bike though eh? The roads are slippy this time of year.

Congrats, but now the real learning begins!

Have a look at www.iam.org.uk and see if there is an advanced motorcyclists group near you. Fun social club but with a chance to learn some really good stuff. Plus a massive insurance discount!

Don't be fooled. Even an 8 year old CBR600 can get you into trouble pretty easily. The latest one is probably 10% faster at best, but it also has upgraded tyres and brakes and is a bit lighter.

At the end of the day you're an adult and can take responsibility for yourself, just be aware that riding a fast bike requires a different mindset to driving a car. Mainly a lot more restraint.

Well the only place I know of is Sturdey's (sp?) in Shipbourne Road. Not sure how good they are, but they do seem popular! There's also a bike shop near the police station, forgot their name and the road's name though! Also not sure if they service bikes... (I'm not a biker so thats all I know... I'm sure there's a couple more about... )

I know someone who is a bit of a biker, I can ask him when I see him, if you like?

Just talked to my bro in law, best place for Hondas around here is John Harris motorcycles in Crowborough. He only does Honda and worked on race team stuff. Not cheap but will keep your gear going longer.

Just back from spoons. Yeahhh will try and sort out a meet up. Was thinking of 7oaks as its a good place to drink at weekends and is a bit closer to romanov. Its also easier to get from 7oaks to tonbridge than the other way around. Thinking of romanov in black leather just makes me scared. I drink down spoons with masterflash most thursdays, have a couple of friends that come out as well.
Just going to send romanov a email to see if he wants to come out and play. Just have to keep him away from the stella.
