    what way into motorsport???

i'm itching to get into a (cheap) form of motorsport... my criteria are:

    1. cheap
    2. flexible (i'm away, frequently, for differing amounts of time)
    3. cheap
    4. suitable for an mx-5
    5. suitable for an amatuer (i've done karting, but that's the extent of my motorsport 'experience')
    6. local (yorkshire) so I can drive there (so a road-legal car must be suitable)
    7. cheap

any ideas??? hillclimbs? road rally? (don't know much about either)

Go to the AutoSport show in Jan at the NEC, you'll leave there full of ideas.

Why not go to some track days and get a feel for whats its like to race around the track? It feels great, it satisfies my car urges anyway, dont relly feel the need to engage in it in any kind of ametur or professional manner.

Just bring your car to castle coombe, pay your £150 or whatever it is for a days racing, and have fun.

    Race tracks!

NO, really, many race tracks around the country do track days often, you bring your own car, pay anything from 50-200 quid and race. There are often things organised on old RAF air strips and stuff too. I dont have any good links for you sorry

@ the MR2 - is it the Turbo?
