    I'm upgrading to something grippier yes, but im still not convinced about zaks theory (i'll re read the thread properly ASAP, and then we can talk about it

    Theoretically friction is independent of contact area. There may be some other considerations though, like wear. Also when you are braking traction and going into spinning mode and are removing material rapidly from the tyre then width may play a role.

    Should have the car back on Saturday, keeping everything crossed!

    Edit: I've just realised that thing plugs into the fag lighter. And my fag lighter is well, mostly a starter button now! I'll have to wire something in on a temp basis methinks... if the next user notices some singe marks, wasn't me guv!

    Moby when the little box comes back from its Hexus holiday I'll have a bash as well if ya don't mind. I've always wondered if the official performance figures are close to right and how the amount of fuel sloshing round the tank effects stuff.
