    As noted they're corner lights, I've seen the stated as an aid both to spot pedestrians and to warn pedestrians that you're turning so they don't cross the road you're turning into - an unfortunate side effect of bright headlights is that turn indicators can be quite hard to spot. Some headlights dim on indication to try and help that of course.

    My old van used to do that, but you had to brake so hard that you'd have to peel your face off the windscreen afterwards.....

    Seen mostly mercs with the hazard flashing feature.

    hell yeah, we had the ABS just starting to kick
