    Smile Licence

Does anyone know the rules for applying for my licence. I lost it on 31st August last year due to suffering an epileptic seizure. I haven't had any recurrances and believe I can apply for my licence from 1/8/03.

    Do you know:

    Which form I fill in?

    When I can apply?

How long it's likely to take to get it back?

PS - I'm not on anti convulsants as it was a first (and hopefully LAST!) attack.

Once you've had a siezure like that, the DOctor tells you THAT'S IT MATE...no more driving.

Once someone in authority like a Doctor puts it on his/her notes.......your license and therefore insurance and drivability are a no goer!!!

Its understandable i s'pose. I used to have a friend about 7/8 years ago when i lived in Germany for a while, his dad was on medication and was driving down the Autobahn. The drugs they said made him lose control of the car and he died in the accident I s'pose its for every1's safety and i can see sense in it...even if Big Richard i'm sure feels fine all the time now!

I feel fine all the time now.....

What Zak says is true, once the doctor says 'You have had a grand mal epileptic seizure and can not drive for a year' YOU CAN NOT DRIVE FOR A YEAR and it is really crap!

I'll be applying for my licence once I've been to the post office to get the form. I think I have to fill in a form so that DVLA can check with my doctor for some sort of certification stating that I am fit to drive......

I was told to apply about a month before I'm due to get my licence back so that they can do these checks if they wish and so I can get back on the road ASAP.

    Thanx for your help guys....
