    Juddery ride

Its all happening to my car now :/

Im sure it happens the whole time, but when I get to 70mph my car is seriously juddery (if I go a bit faster my CD player can actually stop working!)

I went to kwik-fit for a wheel alignment which they couldnt do because I didnt have the lock thingy, woops. The bloke said it was probably because my front tyres were bumpy and said to buy new ones, but Im not convinced they would cause my car to judder as much as it does.

    What could it be? Cheers

Anyone in the Canterbury area wanna look?

Sounds like the wheels need balancing. If a balancing weight has fallen off it could cause that.

You'll need the lock though, that's for sure! Maybe the prvious owner left it in the glovebox or something?

Yeah I thought it was a bit dodgy.

He was showing me the wheel at the time and goes "see, feel that?"
*i shrug* "feels ok to me!"

Kwik-Sh1t will tell you any old crap to try and sell you stuff. Avoid, is my advice.

    HOLD ON PEOPLE.....

now what you could have, is a tyre gone out of shape.
What happens is the inner wires break, causing a lump on the tyre. This causes very severe vibrations and can lead to the tyre actually blowing out.

For some reason, I always found pirelli's were the worst for it!

Get it jacked up and spin the wheel. if it's gone out of shape you'll spot it immediately (it's THAT obvious!). If thats the case put the spare on; if you can't get the spare on cos of the locking nuts either (a) don't drive it or (b) butcher the locking nuts off and get a new set.

The very last thing I'd wish on anyone is a blow out (and even less, a blow out at speed)

    Agree with jiff!!!

Its completeley unwise to take chances with tyres, a blow out at 70 is probably the scariest thing ever and often ends up in barrier twonkage and other car hittage and sometimes major injury to you and others.

Go to a decent local garage tyre shop place thats not quik fit, and get them to put the wheel on their wheel spinner, if its a dogy tyre the wheel spinner will start moving around the place like a washing machine if its just that lead weight has come off and unbalanced your wheel the guy can fix it for a couple of quid or maybe free if he is in a good mood.

Get it checked the hell out!
