That isn't so much distinctive as just normal for late 70's mid engined. Compare with FIAT X/19 (or the Lancia Montecarlo)
But once you see the Marina doorhandles the car is ruined. You can't unsee those tatty door handles.
Edit: Later Esprit is lovely, or from this period the De Tomaso Pantera or my favourite and the answer to most car questions: Lancia Strato's (which in Stradale form is best in green)
Red works on Italian cars, apart from the big cruiser ones that should be blue

Normally I'd say red, but the amount of (solid) red cars you see where they've faded, I'd have to say white, but neither would be my first choice.

i'm v sad now... that's red and white abused beyond belief.

I seem to remember, back in the day, when he was writing for Autocar, he bought a blue F355. And regretted it straight away. Didn't know he'd then bought a red one...
