All the lanes are the same speed, so there is no slow lane. They're are overtaking lanes, but you should only be in those if you're overtaking. If there's space to get round you on the left then there's space for you to pull over.

Sorry i just call it the slow lane, i meant on a 70 mph road the Lorrys, Buses, Coaches, Caravans (Limited to 50 mph) and Tractors (Which drive dangerously slow, but i understand why) i get what you mean by overtaking only and i do stay to the left but i find i have to join and leave the overtake lane constantly and someone always appears doing 80 mph so i cant get away from the slow vehicle i am now stuck behind and then i am there 5 minutes before i can get around them again.

That's fine, all those people are in lane 3 which is so crammed full it is only doing 40mph expect for the times when it just grinds to a halt, the dodderers are in lane 2 from where they will not budge until 100 yards before their exit ramp, leaving lane 1 quite empty and fairly stress free.

Just don't get annoyed, don't take it personally. As long as I am not sandwiched between a couple of trucks (which is asking for it) then the overtaking lanes are generally not worth the stress.

The problem is tailgaters on the A roads where there is someone in front, nowhere to go, nowhere to overtake, nowhere to pull over. I think part of that is just don't drive near London.

I'm not a Dodderer lol, I stay to the left unless its really slow.

A roads are a nightmare if your stuck behind someone going very slow, but what can you do not much just keep your distance but you know someone is always behind you wanting to take a chance..

Which is never, ever, ever going to happen. Whilst the average driver believes they are an above average driver, there will never be the political will to improve average driving. Say by making people actually take a realistic test on a reasonably regular basis to demonstrate that they can at least suspend their bad habits for a couple of hours.

This is the reason that a Tesla with its crappy "one black and white camera looking for white lines plus a radar sensor for distance" self driving capability is still 40% safer than the average incompetent moron on the road.

Forget white vans, busses or BMW/Audis - I've been hit by and had so many near misses from young girls in Corsas... always the 1.4 model, as well.
