Had an F-Pace almost slide into me on Sunday Morning near Cambridge. Bad road conditions but it was a straight bit, don't know what they did to cause a wobble but I thought they were going to end up sideways in front of me! Fortunately it sorted itself out before they passed, probably tried to slow down on the brakes too quickly.

pure coincidence,,. I was following his BROTHER who did it somewhere west of the A34.

I went for 6 months without a boiler, the inside of the flat was 4 degrees above freezing.. Whereas your boiler went out for less than 12 hours and you started running benchmarks on your PC to warm up the room.

I think, from that sentence alone, we can work out who the Northerner and who the Southerner is.

    My 0.7Mbps says "No...".

My house averages 9ºC in Winter, according to my PC air intakes, and we've lived here about 7 years. There are storage heaters but they cost too much to run. There's a small open fireplace, but that only heats the lounge. Hot water bottles and coats all round, with a hat for good measure and a dog on your lap if you're lucky!

    Oh Zak!

This Audi Quattro driver had the opposite experience, cruising uphill nicely with summer tyres with A grade wet grip, while the Polo's were struggling at the bottom.

I think we both know its the nut on the end of the steering wheel that decides how far cars get, or not, in this weather, not the car!

Throw a bag of sand in the boot and turn the traction control off, and a 3 Series is great in the snow! Of course, I've been spending most of my winters overseas these days, and this year is no exception!

No economy 7 for the heaters? Makes them reasonable, if not quite as cheap as gas.

No snow for me at all this year, but a bloody hard frost this morning. My car was still covered by the time I got to work.

This was the best home we could afford. Problem is that they're 1860s builds in a rural area and everything is electric. Temperature was -5ºC at 10am this morning.

We're already doing that... and £40 a week is insane. That's the best part of a grand per quarter just on heating - We're being excessive if we pay more than £120 per Winter quarter.

They're energy-efficient (supposedly) but they're not cheap. Least not round here, anyway.

I'm paying £120 a month in electric for a 1 bed flat here at uni. Live with my gf and we're quite frugal with electric, but couldn't stand the cold.

My estate agents assured us the EPC was a B/C before we signed. We've now found out it's a G.

Personally I use 2x25KG bags of water softner salt in my E91 335i, gives me much better grip and quieten downs all the rattles That + winter tyres = winning combination.
