When i used to play CoD we had a mate who still got cut off if someone answered a home line call. We had much fun waiting until he was doing good then calling until his mum picked up.

£520 per quarter by my reckoning (£40x13 = £520). Which is still bonkers.

Economy 7 electricity should be about a third of the cost of standard rate, so they would cost a third as much to run if you had it. Mine was around 5-6p a unit last I checked.

FWIW, 2 bed flat, all electric, about £6-700 a year on electricity. Around 75% usage is on cheap rate, which helps a LOT.

LOL,if someone used YT,it used to make the interwebs crawl to stop. They then late last year got it upto 5MB to 7MB(it was advertised upto 10MB years ago) and earlier this year it crashed to 3MB and below again. So managed to get fibre now and its better. Upload was horrendous though on the old connection- when I did my GTX1080 review it took absolutely ages to upload the videos to YT. My phone had faster interwebs than my landline!!

    Re: Snow 2017 :-)

Economy 7 isn't anywhere near 1/3 the price of normal tarifs anymore....

Example - Co Op Day Rate for Economy 7 averages abut 13.8p / unit and the Night rate is about 9.6p

But the non Eco 7 all day rate is a tad lower than the Eco 7 day rate, all day in some areas

    https://www.cooperativeenergy.coop/s...riff-table.pdf

it depends on the Power gen supplying your vendor and whether they have an excess at night, but as most Elec generators can now provide what's NEEDED and not just run at 100% all the time the old Economy 7 price gap has shrunk

I counted the "Winter" quarter as about 20wks, IIRC.

We're on at least 16p day rate.

Depends who you're with and where you are. Mine is 17.4p / 6.1p with EDF, which for my usage of 1200/3500 works out about £80 cheaper than the Coop rate. I basically go for the company with the cheapest night rate regardless of day rate as it works out cheaper.

Not entirely sure what to do
If the estate agents claimed it was more efficient than it is, you should have legal rights in this situation. Probably worth a visit to citizens advice

I needed to download a 24MB driver for a Radeon card for a build nearly 20 years ago. I had a contended 250kb/s satellite provided connection. I set it up down loading at 8 am before I went to work and got back at 4:30 pm to see it finish.

I had to download a Thermaltake driver the other day, 26MB it was. I'm on a Vivid 300 connection receiving around 385Mbit. It took the best part of 10 minutes.

No snow here in my part of Scotland. LOADS of ice though. Then it rained yesterday (while the thermo was still in the minus) and froze on impact. So lots of ice rinks about! We northerners take it in our stride though

Not sure if serious, but he's obviously photoshopped out the actual plate.

Sensible. But if you download and use CSI's zoom and enhance tool to view the reflections off the car panel you can see the reflection of the number plate in the adjacent car and the person's face. Zoom and enhance a few more times, you can get their retina and fingerprints, and run that through their amazingly up-to-date and far-reaching database to find out everything they've ever done. A quick reconstruct of the finger print and they could access their phone too.

Must have been cold, their nose is running.
