Go look at the most popular TV programmes in the UK and then tell me if the rest of the world considers that (the programmes, or the audience) in any way normal...!!

I'm still perfectly happy to do it, but I may have to ask you for my overtime rate, as well as payment for the subject being filmed as they'll have to sign a release form and everything, probably have to charge you for the rights to film on our site as well (which every film company has had to do, from James Bond to Day Of The Triffids)... and I'm sure there will be other expenses involved.

    Yup.
    https://iopscience.iop.org/article/1...48-9326/aa7541

Average saving for not having a child: 58.6 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Average saving for not having a car: 2.4 tonnes.
Also, since you mentioned veganism, average saving for eating a plant based diet: 0.8 tonnes.

Having an electric car is basically pissing in the wind compared to these as the majority of UK power is carbon intensive, and making the car itself is carbon intensive. If he really cared he'd have no car at all and no children.

Also I can basically do donuts in the carpark in an F-150 and still come out ahead of anyone with a child.

I mean this is even worse than not saying you can prove it. You say you can prove it and then ask for money to do so. Reduces your testimony to less than worthless in my eyes.

There has been news in Lincolnshire recently that district councils have different rules on what they collect for recycling. However all the material goes to the same recycling plant. Standardisation is desperately needed.

    DILLIGAF?
Firstly, what makes you think this is a court, in which my anecdotes constitute a legal testimony?
Secondly, what makes you think your opinion of the validity in my passing remark holds sufficient value in my own opinion to warrant working late, risking legal action and losing money just for the purposes of having you believe me?

If you care that much about whether or not I am telling the truth, put your money where your mouth is.

I don't really care, just you seemed willing to prove it, then backed down. If you don't care whether I believe you or not, that's fine.

I never thought it needed proving in the first place, as it was just a passing counter to your assertion with slightly more qualification than simply saying, "That's not always true", to give it context.

I'm not backing down and am still perfectly willing to prove it however you like, but I'm not going to all that effort and expense for free, is all.
If you like, I could get a sworn statement from the aforementioned planet-saving persons, stating that they fail to acknowledge the bull-poo recycling service, instead? I don't believe they would charge for their time on that...

Whatever floats your sandal... Have a think about it over the weekend and let me know.
Not before 7pm on Sunday, though, as I'll be busy thinking of ways to get back on-topic in this thread about brick-shaped pickup trucks...

It proves that at least one American manufacturer does have it in their heart to produce a smaller car for as demanded by other markets than their home one.

How about this - I'll pay you for the time it takes you to record the video, and you pay me an equal rate for the time it takes me to watch it.

Or that they just realised they can make more money off selling vehicles that can go round our corners?
Harley Davidson was also supposed to be making new models specifically designed for European roads...

I could happy with that. Depends on what rate you're offering.

Having seen how well other manufacturers did when making such cars, they'd have been fools to not eventually hop on the same bandwagon... but are their hearts actually in it, or is it just about the money?
Ford still have a bad rep for shoddy cars, so I'm guessing the latter...

    Late May '19 update

    https://uk.reuters.com/article/us-ge...-idUKKCN1T01W1

GM investing in those monster pickups....

profit over environment, and I'm expected to wash up a yoghurt pot before dropping it in the right one of 3 bins.

The Mindset of the general middleaged american male who lives a non-city centeral lifestyle is a stereotype that is repeatable across that demographic imo. Melenials, gen x and blah blah will see that this fad falls apart in the peterol/diesel scene. E-Trucks FTW, though they will also be inefficient in many regards its still a better alternative.

    Of course you are.
However, you are also expected to not pollute the planet by driving your massive dirty engine around. Whether you do or not is your choice, though, nothing to do with the manufacturer any more than whether or not you stab someone with your steak knife is anything to do with the cutlers who made it.

    Technically speaking, anyway....
Is it Friday, yet? It must be Friday soon, as things are feeling a little flippant and Fridayish...
