Standard Jimny though is looker in it's own right and if I lived somewhere where I needed that kind of off road capability a Jimny would be high on my list of must haves.

but thats because
A) it's right... that car is just ..right
B) it's the right price! £17k is gonna get you a lot of car and £19k will be a mountain of car
C) it will last a loooooong time
D) it will make you smile every day (that you don't go on a motorway for long)

I've just got off the phone, literally just now, with Phoenix Suzuki near me. They're quoting 10 months as a minimum, if I placed an order today, going up to 12-15 months on some specifications.
Can't say I'm surprised, not one bit.

Looking forward to my test drive on Monday now, will report back with how I find it. I'll be test driving the SZ5 ALL-GRIP model.

It certainly has all the basic, utilitarian qualities of a Defender, but to me, it looks just like a mini Mercedes G-Wagon.
