    Flashy LED thingy

I"ve got a flashing led that's supposed to look like the flashy led of an alarm. Apparently

Anyway is it worth fitting or do scum laugh at such things, and how could I wire it up so it only comes on when the ignition is off?
    Mini!!!!!

I personally wouldn't bother. If someone wanted to steal your car.. they will steal it! no matter what protection you put on it!

I disagree, something as simple as a red flashing LED could be seen as a deterant, stick it in a little black thing like the clifford efforts and u never know...

I agree with all the above posts !

True, if they want your car they will take it whether you've spent £1.50 or £15,000 on security, and it will probably take the same length of time to take it.

However, it will deter the opportunist thief who does it for a laugh etc.

It will work best as a deterant if you stick it somewhere on the dash, or next to the steering wheel - similar to where real alarm ones go. But you might need to put a hidden switch somewhere if it's somewhere that will annoy you when your driving, but then you'd have to remeber to turn it on when you park and vice versa.
