    Oops.....

Well after 14 years of not welding (and my welder friend going 'missing' in Wales ) decided to fire up ye old welder and do the bits on the SD1 that needed err welding.
    1) the brand new welder I bought a year ago (its been sitting under the stairs unused as I scrapped the car I bought it for) doesnt feed wire.... so need to send that back to the shop
    2) you can easily modify a small bottle connection to accept a medium bottle !! - used my old trusty handy mig !!
    3) my welding is 'nearly' at aircraft engineer std again after 4 hours practice
So tonight - in from work.... get changed, prep the repair - tack it.... go for the kill....... gas runs out and I blow a hole in the panel bum bum bum
Angle grinder out tomorrow, but cant get gas refill until Saturday when im supposed to be going to Santa Pod..... have a date with a man whos rover 3.5 runs very low 8 sec 1/4's

LOL, got to fix my mig before i can carry on with my Mk1. Doing some welding on a friends 100E and he wanted a go, anyway, he managed to weld the tip to the body, got it all red hot and stripped all the threads where the tip screws in and bent the neck pulling it off the body...

On the upside, my 2.8i Capris gone so thats one less distraction, although i'll feel lonely until i've parked something in its place...
