    tuned me volvo....

by which i mean i toyed with the mixture screw so the engine doesnt choke when you put your foot flat down. was having real problems getting past 80 before, now goes up to 109 (indicated on the flat) so i must be doing something right

    not bad for a 17yr old 1.4 non-injection imo

I used to have to 2.0l version of that volvo - I *had* to buy it when I found out the previoud owner had christened it Moby-Dick ( because of the spoiler ) - it was a great little car, rear wheel drive , De-dion setup ( gearbox over the rear axle ) and a beefy 1/2 v8 engine

    but in black..

360s are a bit more flashy than my humble 340 gl - some of them have fuel injection () and they had stuff like body coloured bumpers and better internal trim. musta been dodgy as hell in the wet - mines bad enough and its got nowt power compared to the 360s

It was fine in the wet - you coudl hold the back end out as much as you licked and then it would kick back in when you wanted

the previous owner of mine was a Rally driver and showed me excatly how to play with it in the wet

needed powersteering imo, not cos im a wuss but cos its lock-lock is about 6 full turns so when you need to catch the rear end you need to be bloody quick with the wheel

I was the proud owner of a 360 GLT (2.0i) in my youth. I loved that car (although I pranged it within 10 days of having it - long story pulled out of a side road into someone). It was pretty nippy when you put your foot down. The missus had a 360 GLE (2.0 webber carbs) which was a little slower but sounded niiice. Before the 360 - I had a 340 (my first "proper" car) hich was slooow but solid. These days I wouldn't mind one of them S60R's

i'd go for a 360 if i could afford either the insurance or the fuel costs but as it is i cant, so i have the 1.4

its not too slow - its hardly fast but it never struggles to keep up with traffic. got the 0-60 down to 12.5 secs which isnt too bad considering. nice and easy to maintain too

My dad had a Volvo 480ES. (the wedge) 1.7 renault engine. That was a lovely car. Loads of toys. Heated Seats, Electric mirrors, windows, etc... If you walk upto a 480 and pull the drivers door handle the key hole with light up to show you where to put the key on these dark nights.

Gorgeous car.... metalic black with a red trim.
