    Re: Bluetooth FM transmitter thingy

Well, as I hate threads which start a question and then go dormant without an answer, in the end I found this:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/UGREEN-USB-.../dp/B081GGB53R

    For 12 quid!

    Works perfectly.

Unfortunately when I was fiddling around with the EQ and balance settings on my phone I discovered the reason the sound seems quite gutless is that the mid+sub unit on the drivers side is completely dead, so I may have to replace that anyway....

Nice find. This could work for me actually. I only have aux in my car, the FM doesn't work, something to do with solder issues, but I can't stand radio so it's not been worth fixing. Now that my phone doesn't have an aux cable, while I bought a USBC/AUX splitter it only works some days and not others. This would take away the need to plug in the phone every time.

I had a Transmitter about 12 years ago for my old Corsa, it worked ok but with a hiss and other distortion. I changed it for a different brand but again had similar problems and eventually got a better car that negated it's requirement.

Well, as with everything YMMV, but I get zero distortion, zero hiss. It was literally plug and go. Probably worth a punt for £12. I did find them under a tenner, but I wanted next day delivery, so sprung for the more expensive price on Amazon.

Good shout for window shopping first, didn't realise UGREEN had their own shop, for £9.99 direct I can't complain!

I avoided the AliExpress claims of $2. God knows what I would have ended up with, can't believe it's the genuine product, although I know that's how UGREEN started.

Good fine, I would generally trust ugreen as a brand and of course it has enough amazon reviews to give confidence.

I have a similar unit one in my 2009 RR Sport. Same thing with the bluetooth, its just the phone. Sound quality is suprisingly good.

    Re: Bluetooth FM transmitter thingy

Over a week later and it's arrived. Worked perfectly first time and makes life so much easier with less cabling and hopefully no more audio issues.

Not UGreens fault, but Evri lost the parcel after a first attempt. I'd initially waited a few days expecting Evri to come back but they didn't. So I started a support call. Having not heard anything for a couple of days I went to UGreens. Only to have to wait 2 days for UGreen to tell me to go to Evri. Eventually Evri replied and took a few more days to find the package.
What's annoying is they listed the reason they couldn't deliver because a signature was required. Yet when they delivered it the second time just put it through the letterbox. So the whole thing could have been avoided if they'd have just done that originally.

So if you need it quickly get from Amazon.
