    Photoshop Help....

Have been having a go, but Im pants
Ideally im after a decent looking front end for the drag car (and If I like it... yes - this will happen)
    A few things :-
    1) Indicators must come down from being above (and to the side) of the lights (ideally moved down from current position, but not that type currently installed, most probably rectangular though)
    2) Would prefer either a single or double round light - failing that larger than current (thinking Capri sizes/shapes here)
    3) It has to look darker - thinking about a 'mesh' grill, or just darkening the exisiting.
Needs to be photogenic - as there is a distinct possiblity of a magazine feature
    Thanks for any assistance
    Iain

Got a set of Mk3 Capri twin headlights in the loft i think m8 if you want 'em to try and graft them on. As for the indicators, Hillman Imp units (late type) are nice, they are a sidelight/indicator unit in one. Same things were fitted to the works Mk1 Escort rally cars...

...as for the grill, i think if you could get Capri twin lights in there (painted black), and then paint the surround of the grill that would be enough to tone it down. I would imagine that if you squeezed Capri lights in, you would lose the section of grill thats outside the headlights?.

Cheers matey - will have to hunt for a picture of the capri lights....
They are the ones with 2 round lights in a rectangular case?
Are for the indicators.... well its just needs to get through an MOT
    Cheers

edit - as for the grill, looks MUCH better with just a surround - thats about all I did manage to do !! Can live with loosing the 2 silver 'blocks' either side of the main lights though - lord only knows what they are for !

The Mitsubishi Ecllipse Headlights and signals would look great in there I think. Just looked some up and those would look awesome if you didn't mind the more difficult fabrication from the non-standard shape but they are a cool shape no matter what year you use.

If I have some time later I'll photoshop some in for ya'. This is the kinda thing that gets my brain going

That car reminds me of a lot of old 70's muscle cars. How bout something like these-

    1973 Plymouth Road Runner

    or-

    '72 Dodge Dart Swinger

They both would work well with your front grill

Was it a bright yellew Plymouth Road Runner Daisy Duke drove in The Dukes Of Hazzard before she had her Jeep?. The shape and that stripe up the side seem awful familiar...

    Why thank you
Its an Australian Valiant Regal (R/H drive) 4 door - bit like a Dodge Dart.
Had intended to run my Rover lump in there.... but it was in too high state of tune, and wouldnt have made the power I wanted without loads of Nitrous... so made the decision a couple of weekends ago to sell the engine and go with my second choice..... Big Block Chevy with approx 600 / 650 bhp (havent decided spec yet - subject to change - could be errr more ) running a powerglide into a 8 3/4 rear end on 4:10 ratio - and a set of Mickey T's hanging out back on 14x15 rims.....
As to road legal - ohhhhhh yes, has to be for the series I want to run in - im going to be mid/back field anyway - as the front runners are running mid / low 8 sec 1/4's at the moment (and thats without the new 2004 engines I keep hearing rumours about!!)
Another pic here (ignore the front wheels, they are just for moving the car around on its new suspension) :-

    Few more pics here http://homepage.ntlworld.com/iain.burns/IMCRacing/Pics/

This is my favorite at the moment - though the lights need to be a bit smaller

    Very nice E

    Very "American"

My father-in-law used to drag race a '68 hemi dart.
I'm familiar with Valiants and that does look like one but what's up with the top-side turn lights

That last one does look very muscle-carrish. It actually looks very much like an older Chevy Malibu. About a '66 I believe.

Nice engine BTW, 650 should be easy with a Big-Block Chevy. 900-1000 shouldn't be too hard either

The turn lights make me want to be ill - I hate them with a passion!!!

Only aiming for 650'ish brake - as I havent driven anything with this sort of power before - my chassis builder is err sourcing bits from abroad, (guessing a contact in the USA) but wont reveal his source - so I am awaiting on a set of alloy heads, all CNC machined up, with valves the size of a tea plate - they are HUGE! - and a lot cheaper than anyone over here can get them....

If I go with the spec he wants - im looking at a 9'sec N/A car - but I think that WILL scare me, hence me wanting to keep the power down until im used to it - that, or installing a throttle stop

Zak - if I can find anyone to sponser the engine the car will be finished a LOT quicker - but its a case of more work happens when finances allow at the moment
Havent Vauxhall got ties with Chevy somewhere - the whole car is available for sponsersship at the moment

We’ll, they all come under the GM banner, I think.

Don’t bother with 650bhp. It’ll scare you until the second time you run it, then it will be too slow, and you’ll want more.

Go with a 1000bhp build, and practise, and you’ll soon get used to it. If it were a track car, then I’d worry. But it’s drag. Put a set of Hoosiers on the back, and you’ll be laughing for all of 9 seconds until a guy on a turbo’d Hayabusa passes you on his back wheel.

    Muahahaha.
