I've seen a car like that before - was a Sunny, stuck between a brick wall and a tree, no idea how they managed it! Must just have been going fast enough to wedge it I guess.

Well, I wasn't there when it happened, but my wife tells me that somebody was taken away in an ambulance, and the Police were there (hence the tape...)

police have to attend any accident with an injury afaik

incidentally, they will refuse to attend anything without an injury where both parties stopped. regardless of what one of the parties was doing in order to cause the smash. madness imo
